Hridya meaning
Hridya (हृद्या) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Dear to the heart, pleasing, charming, lovely
Hridya (हृद्या) is the feminine of Sanskrit hṛdya, formed from hṛd, "heart". Monier-Williams gives it as being in the heart or innermost, and especially as pleasing, dear to the heart, charming and lovely; of food, it means savoury. Name lists often give Hridya simply as "heart", while the dictionary sense is closer to "dear to the heart". It is a different word from hṛdaya, "the heart", which gives the boys' name Hriday. Hridya is used in Kerala.
