Isaiah meaning
Isaiah is an international and Christian boy's name of Hebrew origin.
Yah has saved; salvation of Yah
Also used to mean: God is salvation, salvation of the Lord
Isaiah is the Hebrew name Yəšaʿyāhû, made from the verb yāšaʿ, "to save", and Yāh, a short form of the divine name. Strong's Concordance (H3470) explains it as "Jah has saved", and Brown-Driver-Briggs as "salvation of Yah". The verb is the same one found in Joshua and Hosanna. Its great bearer is the prophet Isaiah of Jerusalem, whose book is one of the longest in the Bible and is quoted often in the New Testament, especially its passages of hope and comfort. The name is used by Christian and Jewish families, and its flowing sound is easy for Indian families to say.
