Jeet meaning
Jeet (जीत) is a Hindu boy's name of Hindi origin (from Sanskrit). By its first sound, जी, it is a Makar rashi name (Uttara Ashadha nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Winning, victory, conquest; success
Also used to mean: triumph
Jeet (जीत) is the everyday Hindi word for a win. Platts' Hindustani dictionary gives jīt as winning, victory and conquest, and also gain, success and advantage, with compounds such as jītpatr, a decree in one's favour. It comes from the Sanskrit root ji, "to conquer", through jita, "won, conquered", which Monier-Williams records from the Ṛgveda onwards. Name lists give "victory" or "triumph", which matches. Jeet stands alone as a name and also ends longer names such as Ajeet, Inderjeet and Manjeet, many of them Sikh.
