Arjit meaning
Arjit (अर्जित) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Acquired, gained, earned
Also used to mean: achieved
Arjit (अर्जित) is Sanskrit arjita, the past participle of the verb arj, "to procure, to acquire". Monier-Williams gives acquired, gained and earned, and points to svārjita, "earned by oneself". The word is still everyday Hindi for something won through one's own effort. Baby-name lists give the name as "earned" or "achieved", matching the dictionary. It is a different name from Arijit, "one who has conquered his enemies", though the two are sometimes confused.
