Arjun meaning
Arjun (अर्जुन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
White, clear, bright; the third Pāṇḍava prince
Arjun (अर्जुन) is the Sanskrit arjuna, "white, clear, bright". Monier-Williams uses it for the bright colour of the day, the dawn, lightning, milk and silver, and also gives it as a name of Indra and of the tree Terminalia arjuna. As a name it belongs above all to Arjuna, the third of the five Pāṇḍava brothers in the Mahābhārata, a son of Kuntī and, in the epic, of the god Indra. He is famed as a matchless archer who can shoot with either hand and who wins divine weapons from Śiva. In the Bhagavad Gītā he is the warrior who lays down his bow before the great battle and receives Kṛṣṇa's teaching. Name lists give Arjun as "bright" or "white", often naming the hero, in line with the dictionary.
