Jishnu meaning
Jishnu (जिष्णु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Victorious, conquering; a name of Viṣṇu, Indra, Arjuna and the sun
Also used to mean: triumphant
Jishnu (जिष्णु) is Sanskrit jiṣṇu, "victorious, conquering, winning", from the root ji, "to conquer". Monier-Williams lists it as a name of the sun, of Viṣṇu and of Indra, and of Arjuna, who in the Mahābhārata counts Jiṣṇu among his ten names and explains each of them. It is also the name of a Vasu and of the father of the astronomer Brahmagupta. Name lists give "victorious" or "triumphant", which matches the dictionary. The name is used across India, and Jisnu is an alternative spelling.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
