Dhananjay meaning
Dhananjay (धनंजय) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Winner of wealth; a name of Arjuna; fire
Dhananjay (धनंजय) is the Sanskrit dhanaṃ-jaya, from dhana, which Monier-Williams gives as a prize in a contest, booty and, later, wealth or treasure, and jaya, "winning, conquest". It means "one who wins the prize" or "winner of wealth". Monier-Williams records it as a Vedic word, as a name for fire, and above all as a name of Arjuna, the Pandava archer; in the Mahabharata Arjuna explains that he was called Dhananjaya because he won great wealth from the kings he conquered. Indian name lists give "winner of wealth" or "Arjuna". The name is used across India.
