'beloved by Śrī (Lakshmi)', a name of Viṣṇu

Srikant (श्रीकांत) is Sanskrit śrī-kānta, from śrī, the goddess Lakshmi or fortune, and kānta, "beloved, lovely". Monier-Williams explains it as "beloved by Śrī", a name of Vishnu, Lakshmi's consort, and also records an author called Śrīkānta Miśra. Name lists give Srikant as "beloved of Lakshmi", "beloved of wealth" or simply "Lord Vishnu", all of which match the dictionary. Srikanth is the usual spelling in the south and Shrikant in Maharashtra and the north.
