Kuber meaning
Kuber (कुबेर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, कु, it is a Mithun rashi name (Ardra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
The god of riches, chief of the Yakṣas and guardian of the north
Also used to mean: god of wealth
Kuber (कुबेर) is the Hindi form of Kubera, the god of riches and treasure. Monier-Williams describes him as the chief of the Yakṣas, son of the sage Viśravas, a friend of Rudra and the guardian of the northern direction, whose home is on Mount Kailāsa. The same dictionary also records an adjective kubera, "deformed, monstrous". Name lists give "god of wealth", which matches. Kubera is honoured at Diwali together with Lakshmi.
