Layan meaning
Layan (لیان) is a Muslim and international girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Softness, gentleness, tenderness
Layan (لیان) is the Arabic layān, one of the nouns of the verb lāna, "to be soft". Lane's lexicon explains lāna as being soft, smooth, tender and supple, and, of a person, gentle and mild. The Quran uses the related layyin when Moses and Aaron are told to speak to Pharaoh "with gentle words" (20:44). Name lists give Layan as "softness" or "gentleness", matching the dictionary. It is a girl's name in the Arab world and is also used in India. Liyana and Leena come from the same root.
