Nalini meaning
Nalini (नलिनी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A lotus, a cluster of lotuses or lotus pond; the heavenly Ganges
Nalini (नलिनी) is the Sanskrit word nalinī, the lotus. Monier-Williams gives it as the lotus plant or its stalk, a cluster of lotus flowers and a lotus pond, and also as a name for the heavenly Ganges and for two rivers. In the Bhāgavata Purāṇa, Nalinī is the wife of King Ajamīḍha and the mother of Nīla. Name lists today give the same meaning, lotus or water lily, so the modern and classical senses agree. The name is used across India.
