Natasha meaning
Natasha is a Christian girl's name of Russian origin (from Latin).
Of one's birth, a birthday; via Natalia, 'Christmas Day'
Also used to mean: born on Christmas
Natasha began as the Russian pet form of Natalia, a name from Late Latin natale Domini, 'the birthday of the Lord', that is, Christmas Day. The root word is Latin natalis, which Lewis & Short define as belonging to one's birth and, used as a noun, a birthday. That is why name lists explain Natasha as 'born on Christmas'. Tolstoy made it famous through Natasha Rostova, the heroine of War and Peace. In India the name is used in Christian families and well beyond them, as the many Indian actors, writers and athletes called Natasha show.
