Zoe meaning
Zoe is an international and Christian girl's name of Greek origin.
Life; Greek zōē
Zoe is the Greek word zōē, "life". Strong's Concordance gives it as life in every sense, from earthly life to eternal life, from zaō, "to live", and it appears 135 times in the New Testament, as when Jesus calls himself "the way, the truth and the life" (John 14:6). The Online Etymology Dictionary notes that zōē meant physical, living existence, as against bios, a person's way of life. Early Christians used it as a name, and the Greek Septuagint renders Eve's name as Zōē in Genesis 3:20. Zoe is said ZOH-ee, and its meaning matches Indian names such as Jeevika and Jivana.
