Nirmalya meaning
Nirmalya (निर्माल्य) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Remains of an offering to a deity, such as flowers; purity
Nirmalya (निर्माल्य, Bengali নির্মাল্য) is the Sanskrit word nirmālya, which Monier-Williams connects with nirmala, "stainless". As a noun it means what remains of an offering to a deity, such as the flowers that are left after worship, and, on the authority of Wilson's dictionary, stainlessness or purity. The same word used as an adjective can describe something cast off from a garland, but the name follows the devotional sense of a sacred offering. Name lists today give it as "offering" or "pure", both of which the dictionary supports. In Bengal it is a boy's name.
