Shabbir (شبیر) is a name of Imam Husain, the Prophet's grandson. A tradition holds that the Prophet named his grandsons Hasan and Husain after the sons of Harun (Aaron), called Shabbar and Shabbir; Steingass records that shabbar was the name of a son of Aaron and was used by the Prophet for Hasan. We found no dictionary entry for Shabbir itself, so we give no meaning. Name lists offer "handsome" or "good", but we could not trace these to a dictionary.
