Tarana meaning
Tarana (तराना) is a Hindu and Muslim girl's name of Persian origin.
Melody, harmony; a song or tune
Also used to mean: music
Tarana (तराना) is the Persian word tarāna, which Platts's Urdu–Hindi dictionary gives as "melody, harmony, symphony" and as a song, tune or air. In Hindustani classical music a tarana is also a lively vocal composition sung to rhythmic syllables rather than words, traditionally credited to Amir Khusrau. The word passed into Hindi and Urdu poetry and film songs, and it is given as a girls' name by Hindu and Muslim families alike. Name lists explain Tarana as "song", "melody" or "music", which matches the dictionary.
