Vimala meaning
Vimala (विमला) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Stainless, spotless, pure, bright, clear
Also used to mean: clean
Vimala (विमला) is the feminine of Sanskrit vimala, formed from vi-, "without", and mala, "dirt, stain". Monier-Williams gives stainless, spotless, clean, bright and pure, and also clear or transparent. He records Vimalā as a form of the goddess (Dākṣāyaṇī) worshipped at Puruṣottama, that is Puri, where the Vimala shrine stands within the Jagannath temple. Name lists give "pure" or "spotless", matching the dictionary. Vimla is the usual Hindi spelling and Bimala the Bengali one.
