Adarsh meaning
Adarsh (आदर्श) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A mirror; ideal perfection; the act of seeing
Also used to mean: model
Adarsh (आदर्श) comes from Sanskrit ādarśa, formed from ā- and the verb dṛś, "to see". Monier-Williams lists several senses: the act of perceiving with the eyes, a looking-glass or mirror, a commentary that "illustrates" a text, a copy, and ideal perfection. The mirror sense is the oldest everyday one, and the idea of a perfect pattern grew from it. In modern Hindi ādarsh is the common word for an ideal or role model, which is why name lists give Adarsh as "ideal" or "model". That popular meaning is supported by the dictionary. South Indian families often spell the name Adharsh.
