Aksh meaning
Aksh (अक्ष) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Axle, axis; a die; an organ of sense; the soul; eye (in compounds)
Aksh (अक्ष) is Sanskrit akṣa, a word Monier-Williams records with several separate meanings. The commonest is the axle of a wheel or an axis, including the axis of the earth; another is a die used in games, or the seed strung on prayer beads, as in rudrākṣa. A third akṣa means an organ of sense, and the lexicons add the soul and knowledge. At the end of compound words akṣa also stands for akṣi, "eye". Baby-name lists usually give Aksh as "eye", which is this compound sense. It is a short modern name, close in sound to longer names such as Akshat and Akshit.
