Adhira meaning
Adhira (अधीरा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Lightning
Also used to mean: strong
Adhira (अधीरा) is the Sanskrit feminine noun adhīrā, which Monier-Williams defines as lightning. It comes from the adjective adhīra, the negative of dhīra, "steady", and so describes something restless and never still; the flicker of a lightning flash is the image behind the noun. Name lists usually give "lightning", which agrees with the dictionary, though a few add "strong" or "steadfast", senses we could not find. It is also spelled Aadhira.
