Adhish meaning
Adhish (अधीश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A lord or master over others
Also used to mean: supreme lord, king
Adhish (अधीश) is Sanskrit adhīśa, made of adhi-, "over, above", and īśa, "lord". Monier-Williams defines it as a lord or master over others. The word also forms the second half of Dwarkadhish, "lord of Dwarka", the name under which Krishna is worshipped at the great temple in Dwarka, Gujarat. Baby-name lists give the name as "supreme lord" or "king", which fits the dictionary. It belongs with other names built on adhi-, such as Adhiraj, "supreme king".
