Adrish meaning
Adrish (अद्रीश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Lord of mountains, the Himalaya
Adrish (अद्रीश) is Sanskrit adrīśa, made of adri, "rock, mountain", and īśa, "lord". Monier-Williams gives it as "lord of mountains", meaning the Himalaya, the king of mountains in Indian tradition. Some baby-name sites attach looser meanings such as "visionary"; we could not find these in any dictionary, so the mountain sense is the one we give. The name is best known in Bengal, where Adrish Bardhan (1932–2019) wrote science fiction and created the detective Indranath Rudra.
