Ahlam meaning
Ahlam (احلام) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Dreams; also minds, understandings (plural of ḥilm)
Ahlam (احلام) is Arabic aḥlām, from the root ḥ-l-m. Lane's lexicon gives it as the plural of ḥulm, a dream or vision seen in sleep, and also as the plural of ḥilm, forbearance and gentleness, which in the plural can mean minds or understandings. The Quran uses aḥlām in both ways: "confused dreams" in the story of Yusuf (12:44), and "their minds" in 52:32. Name lists give Ahlam simply as "dreams". In modern Arabic and Urdu the word carries the hopeful sense of dreams and aspirations.
