In the dictionaries
The name isn't in the classical dictionaries we use, so it is most likely a modern name. The meaning above is how families commonly use it.
Aleeza (علیزہ), also spelled Aliza, is a modern girl's name used by Muslim families in Pakistan and India. It is not found in Arabic, Persian or Urdu dictionaries. Most sources trace it to the Hebrew name Aliza, "joyful", and the Urdu spelling with ʿayn has led to a popular reading, "daughter of Ali", which we could not confirm. Some sites also give "noble". On name lists Aleeza is usually "joyful" or "cheerful". It is a different name from Alizeh, although the two are sometimes mixed up.
