Arpan meaning
Arpan (अर्पण) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Offering, consigning, entrusting; placing upon
Also used to mean: dedication
Arpan (अर्पण) is the Sanskrit arpaṇa, from the causative of the verb ṛ, "to put, to place". Monier-Williams gives its senses as placing or fixing something in or upon another, and above all offering, delivering, consigning or entrusting. In devotion it means handing something over to God, and the Bhagavad Gītā verse that begins brahmārpaṇam, often recited before meals, describes the act of offering itself as Brahman. Name lists give Arpan as "offering" or "dedication", matching the dictionary. Arpana and Arpita are the matching girls' names.
