Shravan meaning
Shravan (श्रवण) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Hearing; what is heard, learning; fame; the ear; a lunar mansion
Also used to mean: a star, devoted son
Shravan (श्रवण) is Sanskrit śravaṇa, from śru, "to hear". Monier-Williams gives the act of hearing, what is heard, learning by study, and fame, as well as the ear; as a masculine noun it is the lunar mansion Śravaṇa, which gives its name to the month Śrāvaṇa, the Shravan of Marathi and the Sawan of Hindi. In the Ramayana tradition the devoted son Shravan Kumar, who carried his blind parents on pilgrimage, is killed by mistake by King Daśaratha. Name lists give "hearing", "a star" or "devoted son".
