Shrey meaning
Shrey (श्रेय) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Better, excellent; welfare, good fortune, bliss (Sanskrit śreyas)
Also used to mean: excellence, credit
Shrey (श्रेय) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit śreyas. Monier-Williams gives the adjective as better, more excellent or preferable, and auspicious, and the noun as welfare, good fortune and bliss, the bliss of final liberation, and even a synonym of dharma. In Hindi shrey has also come to mean credit or merit, as in taking credit for an achievement. Name lists give Shrey as "credit", "excellence" or "good fortune". It works as a short form of Shreyas, and Shreyansh is built on the same word.
