Shripati meaning
Shripati (श्रीपति) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
'lord of fortune'; 'husband of Śrī', a name of Viṣṇu-Kṛṣṇa
Also used to mean: lord of Lakshmi
Shripati (श्रीपति) joins Śrī, the goddess of fortune also called Lakṣmī, with pati, "husband, lord". Monier-Williams gives it as "lord of fortune", a king or prince, and as "husband of Śrī", a name of Viṣṇu-Kṛṣṇa, especially as worshipped on the Veṅkaṭa hill at Tirupati. Name lists give "lord of Lakshmi", in line with the dictionary. The eleventh-century astronomer and mathematician Śrīpati bore the name. It is used in Karnataka, Maharashtra and the Telugu states, often spelled Sripathi.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
