Bodhi meaning
Bodhi (बोधि) is a Hindu and international boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Buddhist usage), also used for girls.
Perfect knowledge, enlightenment; the sacred fig tree; learned, wise
Also used to mean: awakening
Bodhi (बोधि) comes from the Sanskrit verb budh, "to wake, to understand", the same root as Buddha. Monier-Williams gives bodhi, in Buddhist and Jain use, as perfect knowledge or the enlightened intellect, as the sacred fig tree under which the Buddha attained it at Bodh Gaya, and as an adjective meaning learned or wise. Baby-name lists give the name as "awakening" or "enlightenment", which is the dictionary sense. It is used in India and abroad, mostly for boys, and the related Bodh and Bodhan are also used.
