Dheer meaning
Dheer (धीर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Steady, firm, brave, calm; also wise, intelligent
Also used to mean: patient
Dheer (धीर) is the Sanskrit dhīra. Monier-Williams records two words of this form: one meaning intelligent, wise, skilful and clever, and one meaning steady, firm, resolute, brave, composed and calm, the second also used of a deep, low voice. Indian name lists give Dheer as "patient", "calm" and "brave", which follow the second word. The same root gives dhairya, "patience, courage", and the names Dheeraj and Dhairya. In classical Sanskrit drama the ideal hero is described as dhīra, steady and self-possessed.
