Raghu meaning
Raghu (रघु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Swift, fleet; name of an ancient king, ancestor of Rāma
Also used to mean: king raghu, ancestor of rama
Raghu (रघु) is a Sanskrit word for "swift, speedy, fleet", used in the Ṛgveda, and the name of a legendary king of the solar line. King Raghu was the son of Dilīpa and the great-grandfather of Rāma, which is why Rāma is called Rāghava and his family the Raghus. Kālidāsa's long poem Raghuvaṃśa, "the dynasty of Raghu", tells their story. Some name lists call Raghu "sun god"; that is a loose link to the solar dynasty rather than a dictionary meaning.
