Raghav meaning
Raghav (राघव) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, रा, it is a Tula rashi name (Chitra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Descendant of Raghu, especially Rama
Raghav (राघव) is the Sanskrit rāghava, "descendant of Raghu". Raghu was a king of the Solar dynasty, and Kālidāsa's court epic the Raghuvaṃśa, "Raghu's line", traces his house down to the story of Rāma and Sītā. Monier-Williams applies rāghava to Aja and Daśaratha and above all to Rāma, and in the dual, rāghavau, to Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa together; it is a common epithet of Rāma in the Rāmāyaṇa. The dictionary also records the word for the sea, for a large fish and as the name of several authors. Related names such as Raghunandan and Raghunath share the link, and Raghavan is the usual South Indian form.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Ram.
