Enakshi meaning
Enakshi (एणाक्षी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, ए, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Deer-eyed (feminine of eṇākṣa)
Enakshi (एणाक्षी) is the feminine of Sanskrit eṇākṣa, "deer-eyed". It joins eṇa, which Monier-Williams gives as a species of deer or antelope, with akṣa, the form the word akṣi, "eye", takes at the end of a compound. Large dark eyes like a doe's are a familiar image of beauty in Sanskrit poetry. Name lists give Enakshi as "doe-eyed" or "deer-eyed", matching the dictionary. Some lists link it to Parvati or Lakshmi, but we found no text that uses it as their title. In Hindi it is often written एनाक्षी.
