Hephzibah meaning
Hephzibah is a Christian girl's name of Hebrew origin.
My delight is in her
Hephzibah is the Hebrew Chephtsi-bah, built from chephets, "delight", with endings that make it "my delight is in her" (Strong's H2657). It occurs twice in the Bible. It is the name of the queen mother of King Manasseh of Judah (2 Kings 21:1), and in Isaiah 62:4 it is the new name promised to Zion: no longer called Forsaken, she will be called Hephzibah, "for the Lord delighteth in thee". Christian families in Tamil Nadu and Kerala often spell it Hepzibah or Hepsiba.
