Shalom meaning
Shalom is a Christian unisex name of Hebrew origin, used for both girls and boys.
Safe, well, happy; welfare, health, prosperity, peace
Shalom is the Hebrew word for peace, and much more. Strong's Concordance traces it to the verb shalam and defines it as being safe and well, happy and friendly, and so welfare, health, prosperity and peace. It is used as a greeting, both hello and goodbye, and the Bible speaks of God's shalom as a blessing on people and nations. The same root gives the names Solomon, 'peaceful', and Salome. As a first name Shalom is used for both boys and girls; in India it is chosen by some Christian families as a name that is itself a blessing.
