Ouseph meaning
Ouseph is a Christian boy's name of Malayalam origin (from Syriac and Hebrew).
Let him add; adding (Hebrew Yosef, Joseph)
Also used to mean: God will increase, he will add
Ouseph is the traditional Malayalam form of Joseph, used by Kerala's Syrian Christians and written ഔസേപ്പ് (Ousep). It came to Kerala through Syriac Yawsef, from Hebrew Yosef. Strong's Concordance derives the Hebrew from a verb meaning 'to add' and renders the name 'let him add', recalling Rachel's prayer in Genesis that God would add another son; name lists put it as 'God will increase'. Kerala families also use a string of homely forms of the same name, such as Outha, Ittoop and Kunjeppu. Joseph, the husband of Mary, is one of the most honoured saints in Kerala's churches.
