Yesudas meaning
Yesudas is a Christian boy's name of Malayalam origin (Sanskrit dāsa with Yesu, 'Jesus').
Servant of Jesus (Yesu + Sanskrit dāsa, 'servant')
Also used to mean: devotee of Jesus
Yesudas is a South Indian Christian name joining Yesu, the Indian form of Jesus, with dāsa, which Monier-Williams' Sanskrit dictionary defines as a slave or servant; the pattern is the same as in Hindu names such as Ramdas or Krishnadas. The name of Jesus itself goes back through Greek Iesous to Hebrew Yehoshua, which Strong's Concordance renders 'Jehovah-saved'. The best-known bearer is K. J. Yesudas, the celebrated playback singer from Fort Kochi, who has recorded tens of thousands of songs across Indian languages. Yesudasan is a Tamil and Malayalam form.
