Indraneel meaning
Indraneel (इन्द्रनील) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A sapphire
Indraneel (इन्द्रनील) is Sanskrit indra-nīla, literally "Indra's blue", the classical word for a sapphire. Monier-Williams cites it from Kālidāsa's Raghuvaṃśa and Meghadūta and from the Bhāgavata Purāṇa. The popular meaning, "sapphire", matches the dictionary; one site's "emerald" does not. In Bengal the name is spelt Indranil, and elsewhere Indraneel.
