Indravadan (इन्द्रवदन) is a Gujarati name built from Sanskrit indra, the king of the gods, and vadana, which Monier-Williams gives as the face or countenance, and also the act of speaking. Literally it reads "one whose face is like Indra's", a way of praising a handsome, radiant face. Some name lists give "the moon" instead, perhaps by association with indu, the moon, though we found no source for that. The compound is not a dictionary word. The industrialist Indravadan Modi, founder of Cadila Pharmaceuticals, carried the name.
