Kundan meaning
Kundan (कुंदन) is a Hindu boy's name of Hindi origin. By its first sound, कु, it is a Mithun rashi name (Ardra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Pure gold, the finest gold; pure, best
Kundan (कुंदन) is a Hindi word for pure gold. Platts' Hindustani dictionary gives it as pure or the finest gold, and as an adjective meaning pure, best or finest, as in calling fine goods kundan māl; he links it, with some doubt, to a Sanskrit word. The same word names kundan jewellery, the traditional Indian craft of setting stones in highly refined gold. Name lists give "pure gold", which matches. The singer and actor Kundan Lal Saigal is its best-known bearer.
