Kuzhali meaning
Kuzhali (குழலி) is a Tamil girl's name.
She of the tresses; from kuḻal, a woman's coiled hair
Kuzhali (குழலி) is a Tamil feminine name built on kuḻal with the feminine ending -i. The Tamil Lexicon gives kuḻal as curling hair, human hair, and a woman's hair coiled and tied up behind in a roll, one of the five classical styles of dressing the hair, so Kuzhali means 'she of the tresses'. A second kuḻal on the same page means a tube, a flute or pipe, and the music of the pipe, cited from the Tirukkuṟaḷ verse which says that only those who have never heard their own children's babble call the flute and the lute sweet. That is why some name lists link Kuzhali with the flute or a sweet voice. The zh stands for the Tamil sound ḻ.
