Madhumati meaning
Madhumati (मधुमती) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Full of sweetness; name of a river and of a city
Also used to mean: sweet-minded
Madhumati (मधुमती) is the feminine of Sanskrit madhumat, "possessing sweetness, sweet, pleasant", from madhu, "honey, sweetness". Monier-Williams lists Madhumatī as the name of a river, of a city in Saurashtra and of a daughter of the demon Madhu, and also as a stage in Yoga practice and a poetic metre. Baby-name lists often split the name as madhu plus mati, "sweet-minded"; the dictionary form is built differently, but both readings point to sweetness. Madhumati is also the title of Bimal Roy's 1958 Hindi film.
