Mangai meaning
Mangai (மங்கை) is a Tamil girl's name.
A woman; a girl in her early teens
Mangai (மங்கை) is a classical Tamil word for a woman. The Tamil Lexicon gives it as a woman and, more precisely, a girl of twelve or thirteen, one of the named stages of a woman's life in Tamil poetics, and relates it, with a 'probably', to Sanskrit maṅgala, "auspicious". The word also forms the longer name Mangaiyarkarasi, "queen among women", borne by the Pandya queen Mangayarkkarasiyar, one of the sixty-three Shaiva saints. Mangai is used as a girl's name on its own and inside compounds.
