Niyati meaning
Niyati (नियति) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
The fixed order of things, destiny, fate; restraint, self-control
Niyati (नियति) is Sanskrit for the fixed order of things, necessity and destiny, from ni-yam, "to restrain, to fix". Monier-Williams notes that Niyati is personified as a goddess, a daughter of Meru and wife of Vidhātṛ, and that the related form niyatī is a name of Durgā. The word also means restraint, religious duty and self-control. Name lists give Niyati as "destiny" or "fate", which matches the dictionary. In Hindi niyati is still the ordinary word for fate, so the name is understood everywhere.
