Pavan meaning
Pavan (पवन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Wind, air, the god of wind; breath; purifier
Pavan (पवन) comes from Sanskrit pavana, from the verb pū, "to purify". Monier-Williams gives its first sense as a purifier, then wind or the god of wind, breeze and air, and vital air or breath; the wind was seen as the great cleanser. As a god, Pavana is another name for Vāyu, the wind, and Hanumān is often called Pavanputra, "son of the wind", because Vāyu is his father. Name lists give Pavan as "wind" or "breeze", which matches the dictionary. Pawan is another spelling.
