Sabarinath meaning
Sabarinath (शबरीनाथ) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Malayalam usage).
Lord of Śabarī (śabarī, "a Śabara woman", + nātha, "lord")
Also used to mean: lord of Sabarimala, Lord Ayyappa
Sabarinath (शबरीनाथ, Malayalam ശബരീനാഥ്) joins Śabarī with nātha, which Monier-Williams defines as a protector, patron or lord, noting that it often ends the names of gods and men. Śabarīnātha itself is not a dictionary headword, so its sense is read from these two parts. Śabarī itself is given as a Śabara woman, with a reference to the Rāmāyaṇa, where the devotee Śabarī hoped to meet Rama. Sabarimala, the hill in Kerala where Ayyappan is worshipped as Dharma Sastha, is said to take its name from her, so in Kerala the name is read as "lord of Sabarimala", that is, Ayyappan. Name lists give the same meaning. The longer form Sabarinathan, with the Malayalam -an ending, is also used, as by the Kerala politician K. S. Sabarinadhan.
