Saurabh meaning
Saurabh (सौरभ) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Fragrance, perfume; fragrant
Saurabh (सौरभ) is the Sanskrit saurabha, formed from surabhi, "sweet-smelling". Monier-Williams gives it as an adjective meaning fragrant, and as a neuter noun meaning fragrance or perfume, the sense used in classical poetry and the Kathāsaritsāgara. Lexicographers add saffron and myrrh. Because Surabhi is also the name of a mythical cow, the dictionary records a second adjective sense, "descended from Surabhi". Indian name lists give Saurabh as "fragrance", which matches the dictionary. In Bengali the same word is written সৌরভ and usually spelled Sourav in English, as for the cricketer Sourav Ganguly.
