Srivatsa meaning
Srivatsa (श्रीवत्स) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
'favourite of Śrī', a name of Viṣṇu; the mark on Viṣṇu's breast
Also used to mean: beloved of lakshmi, lord vishnu
Srivatsa (श्रीवत्स) is Sanskrit śrī-vatsa, from śrī, the goddess Lakshmi, and vatsa, "darling, child". Monier-Williams gives it as "favourite of Śrī", a name of Vishnu, and as the special mark or curl of hair on the breast of Vishnu or Krishna, said to be white and drawn as a symbol like a four-petalled flower. The Shrivatsa sign is an auspicious emblem in Hindu, Jain and Buddhist art. Name lists give Srivatsa as "beloved of Lakshmi" or "Lord Vishnu", matching the dictionary. In Tamil families the name often takes the form Srivatsan.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
