Sumedh meaning
Sumedh (सुमेध) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Having a good understanding; sensible, intelligent, wise
Sumedh (सुमेध) is Sanskrit su-medhas, from su, "good", and medhā, "intelligence, wisdom". Monier-Williams gives it as having a good understanding, sensible, intelligent and wise, a word used from the Rigveda onwards, and records Sumedhas as the name of a Ṛṣi and of a class of gods under the fifth Manu. Name lists give Sumedh as "wise" or "intelligent", matching the dictionary. In Buddhist tradition Sumedha is the name of the ascetic who, in a far earlier age, vowed to become a Buddha, which gives the name meaning for Buddhist families too. Sumedha is the feminine form used for girls.
