Tazeen (تزئین) is the Arabic tazyīn, from zayyana, "to adorn", the root that also gives zīnat, "ornament, beauty", the source of the name Zeenat. Lane's lexicon gives zāna and zayyana as to adorn, ornament or decorate, and their reflexive forms as to be adorned or decked out. In Urdu, tazʾīn is used for decoration and embellishment, of a room or of a piece of writing. Name lists give Tazeen as "adornment" or "decoration", which matches the dictionary.
